Madison Gets A New Set Of Wheels

On July 21st we took Madison to her therapy appointment. Her therapist Miss. Audrey has her do exercises to work her arm strength, legs and abs. Then she put her in a walker to see how her balance and stability was progressing. To say that Miss Audrey was impressed is an understatement.

Madison was a pro at maneuvering the walker around the room. She had no issues with her balance. Miss Audrey was so impressed she got out some Canadian Crutches for Madison to try. After a few tries Madison got the hang of those as well but her arm strength isn't quite there yet.

Miss Audrey put in a request for Madison to get a walker. Within 3 weeks she had a new green one. She's not quite happy with the color but she likes being able to use it. She is now taking it to school full time. The only time she uses her wheelchair is for longer distances.

We were told that by next summer she should be ready for the Canadian Crutches. We are going to therapy once a month to learn exercises to help build her arm strength and prepare her for the crutches. Madison is hoping they aren't green.
