The West Side Nut Club puts on the Fall Festival every year. This year was the 89th festival. The only other festival that's larger is Marti Gras in New Orleans. It's always the first week in October and runs Monday to Sunday. They have 126 food booths and rides. It reminds me alot of the Kern County Fair. The whole westside shuts down for the festival.
We decided to take the kids Monday after school. That way it wouldn't be as crowded and we wouldn't get lost in the dark. First we let the kids play games. Andrew got to try out a paintball gun while trying to hit a target. All the kids played the game where you shoot water in the hole to see whose racehorse wins. Then the one where you swing the hammer to hit the bell.
After games we went it search of food. It didn't take long to realize we all wanted something different. Our game plan was to buy one of what everyone wanted and then have everyone sample it. We got to taste corn fritters (my favorite) with warm maple syrup, philly cheese steak sandwich, beef and noodles, pork tenderloin sandwich. Then for desert we shared a funnel cake and fried snickers. After that we rolled ourselves to the car!
