This year Madison wanted to try playing baseball. We signed her up for League of Dreams. They have children of all ages and disability levels. They stress the importance of fun not winning. All the kids play in every game. She made 2 new friends Sarah and Emily.
Opening day ceremonies had face painters, a BBQ and pictures. Plus they were given their hat and team jersey. Maddie's team the Padres played the Angels. She was excited after the game because she thought they had won. I didn't tell her they don't keep score.
Madison loved playing baseball. Matt would push her around the bases in her wheelchair and she would reach down to touch the bases. By the second game she could bat without the tee. Her coach called her little slugger.
At closing ceremonies we received her pictures. Madsion was very excited about the trophy and getting to keep her uniform. They have basketball season coming up in September. She's not sure she wants to play so stay tuned.
